Not sure when this started, but I noticed it after installing the 250.71 drivers (great update btw, loving the new stuff)

I have an Nvidia GTX 275 and use Rivatuner to manually and automatically set fan speeds based on GPU temp. However, I recently noticed that the temp is always 65C and the fan speed is always 54%
For one thing, just looking at the card, feeling heat coming from the heat sink, and listening to the fan - I am certain that neither of these are correct. It is cooler than 65C and the fan looks like it is the default 25%
I mean - that's listening to the fan and judging how fast it's going - but it's not 54% I know that.

I have used GPU-Z and MSI Afterburner to confirm these readings and they all show the same. I cannot manually set the fan speed, it does not respond. And the temperature reading does not increase when I am running programs or benchmark programs that are clearly making it hotter than that.

I have not yet reinstalled drivers or anything, thought I would come here first.

What's going on here?
What can cause this problem and how can I fix it?

I'm using the same driver as you and my GTX 275 is a reference design as well. It is not recommended to use multiple applications that monitor/adjust video card related settings, at the same time. Further more unless I'm mistaken Rivatuner is not being actively worked on anymore and you would be better served exclusively using Afterburner.
