I just installed some duorbs on my 2 8800GTs. I am running ATITool and one GPU is at 45C while the other is at 57C. Is it supposed to do that? If it has any bearing on it my monitor is plugged into the hot one, which is in the top slot.

It's probably because you've got them on on top of the other. The one on top should be cooler than the one on the bottom or the other way around. Something like that. I would suggest either modding your case with a side intake fan near the GPU's or just stick a fan inside the case to blow some additional air. The intake idea would be better to help get some cooler air inside for them while the other just pushes the existing air inside your case around more.

What kind of thermal paste did you put on both of them?

Okay well your temps should be like 37c on idle and 48c on load like me. Maybe because you have two of them they get hot next to each other.

I may just try reseating the duorb. Maybe it has an air bubble or something under it.

If it is the top card that is hotter, perfectly normal, since the heat from the lower one will rise and the top one will not cool quite as well.

AHA! I just looked in my case and realized the main problem. My top card is 1/2 inch away from my northbridge heatsink, which has a fan on the other side blowing towards my GPU. Dang 780Is with their freakishly hot northbridges...
