GPU Watercooling...only?

I've heard that $300 is a good estimate if you want to get started in WCing, but that's also usually just for the CPU.

I don't really see the need to cool my CPU anymore than it already is with my decent HSF, because I can't OC it any higher due to RAM restrictions, and it never gets too hot or too loud, but my GPU seems to get REALLY hot and loud, and so it would make more sense to get a WC setup for just my GPU, since it's the only thing that seems to really need any help...

Is that logical? I don't see very many people going with just GPU WCing, they usually start with CPU, and then when they can afford a GPU block (which I hear are fairly expensive, and they're card-specific correct? Unlike generic cpu blocks). Am I missing something? Why would I need to WC my CPU and not just my GPU?

And the main question, how much would that cost?

It doesn't seem logical to me. You can always buy a better card and leave it at stock speeds with a low fan speed. It will probably outperform your current card with high clocks.

IF you really insist, you don't need a specific gpu block. There are a few generic gpu blocks that work well with most cards. I'll admit, I have a gpu only loop in one of my rigs. The reason that I did it was because I moved things around and my gtx 275 is in the folding competition. I didn't want the heat from the cpu to affect my gpu's speed. The cpu is also running at stock clocks and the stock cooler is plenty capable. But I didn't buy it solely as a gpu loop, it started off as a cpu loop and throughout time ended up as a gpu loop.

Advantages of WCing GPUs:
1) Much quieter
2) Single Slot solution avaliable
3) Possible higher overclocks (see HD5970 VRM overheating)

You'll generally get more out of a WCed CPU than GPU.

That my be true but wc'ing is most effective on gpu's as far as decrease in temps when you compare the two. I say go for it, you can always add the CPU block later on instead of the other way around.
