Der8auer had the same issue with his Strix. Tried to fix it with a heat gun and crippled it further.

He ASSUMED the problem was from the GPU. Since we have the same ASUS Extreme Z790, it's probably the ASUS BIOS.

Yeah, then why did his other Palit work just fine on the same mobo while his crippled Strix ran at 8x on two different mobo's? The problem was the GPU and it's not an uncommon occurrence.
