It was one thread that gained a lot of traction due to the way it was presented which I believe may not have been 100% truthful but presented in a way to create drama.
Anyhow we always hear about stories of companies rejecting warranties/ RMAs but all the times they were successful and hassle free are often not as popular. If you even look in that thread you referenced you will see many people commenting on their positive experiences.
I have personally only had positive RMA experiences with high end components, but I do understand how a single negative experience can lead to an individual avoiding a brand completely.
