sometimes in BF2 my gun goes "shiny" by this i mean it reflects the surrouning environment and looks as if it has a "mirrored" surface. i only get this on my primary weapon and pistol. while this problem is occuring i cannot look down the sights of my primary weapon instead i get a big black square which covers most of my screen, but i can look down the sights on my pistol.

when i try and get a screenshot of this i get an error message stating that there isnt enough memory available to take the shot.

My ATI drivers are up to date
Load temp on VGA is 50C
im using VF900

Reinstalling is going to be the last thing i do because since i bought BF2 i have reinstalled over 30 times (i know my CD key by heart) due to issues with the game. I will reinstall if someone knows that it would fix this issue.

Thx in advance.

try lowering your graphics settings, as you could be straining the card. Medium settings will/should definitley work on your card.

This also happens on Counter-Strike Source if your graphics are too high, or your dx level on the game is too high. Is there a way you can change your dx level higher/lower ? maybe in the config or something. I don't play bf, so i don't know where it would be..
One of the requirments on bf2 i read just then is that you need a
8x or faster CD/DVD drive.. Have you got that? because maybe if it isn't that fast, it could have problems running some parts of the game..or something

none of that will help him.
Maybe you are missing some DX3D**_**.dll's the reflections those games use are called 'shaders' so if your missing a DX file they will **** up

I would try downloading the newest version of DirectX from Microsoft. If you are missing a few shaders, this should but them back.
