Graphics install prob Help please!

Hi,

Ive just installed win7 ult on my old laptop an HP DV1000 all fine except the Graphics controller A. resets my resolution down to 800/600 from 1024/768 when I restart B. Reinstalls the driver every time I restart that is Inel R 82852/82855 GM/GME Graphics controller

Any input how I can stop these things please? Its doing my crust in!

Try locating a legacy driver that includes your model, though in my experience trying to install Intel branded GPUs (other than Nvidia), to be quite tricky.

HP dont have any drivers, Ive used one of those 100000 drivers discs at first, then tried another on a 75000 disc, same problem...

Can you please post the full model # on the bottom of the laptop?

It's HP Pavillion DV1000 s/n: CNF449076K HP stopped updating drivers after xp/win2000 nice of them.....I will hunt around a bit for a legacy driver....

There does not appear to be an updated driver which is what the problem is. Anyway I,m just leaving it on the windows driver and hacked the registry to enable Aero. Took the Intel driver out and seems fine..
