Gta IV on a Laptop...

I'm getting bad FPS, which is expected, but I was wondering if I could get it any better?

Res is about 1024 x 768 IIRC, and all the details are low. Distances are about 10.

I'm certain it's my dual-core processor, because I know GTA4 eat dual-cores as entrees, but is there any way I can improve the performance at all?

I assume you have the game patched? There was a patch which significantly increase performanced. I think it was either patch 1.2 or 1.3.

Anyway, I think your CPU is mostly fine, if i'm not mistaken it's a 2.66ghz Core 2 Duo with 6mb L2 cache right? I think the T models are full cached. Your CPU is rather good.

Your GPU is on the very low-end side, though. And that's what's killing performance.

Hmm I wouldnt go as far as saying its your CPU.. Its most likely the GPU

Install all 5 patches starting with the earliest and see how that helps,you could also try getting Intel's version of AMD Fusion but I'm not sure if there is something like that...

patches boosted my FPS by 10 from 50 to around 60 constant
