Weird, maybe try taking the setting off of auto
Gta4 problem
hi,
i just have installed gta4 on a clean pc just formated my pc and im having some problems playing the game: lagg,... and the games auto settings is auto. at high settings + i have played the game before with no issues.
i thought it could be with my grafxcard but its kinda impossible cause im running on a Gforce Nvidia gtx 285 1gddr.
i hope u guys can help me so i can play gta 4 again

Your lag is probs because a stock Q6600 (2.4GHz) is not fast enough to run GTA4 on high settings, it will also be bottlenecking your GTX285 it would bottleneck an 8800GT at that speed

GTA4 takes more resources to run than MF2, ALOT MORE! If you look at the sys requirements for MF2, you only need a P4, 256Mb GPU, and DX9, LMAO! I mean the game is BA, but it really isn't a resource load like GTA4 is!

I have noticed that GTA4 eats CPU's for little snacks. I believe your graphics card is more than enough to handle the rendering side, but let me tell you when I went from the Amd Athlon 7750(i think thats it) dual core at 3Ghz to my phenom quad 955 at 3.6ghz, my fps literally doubled.
