GTX 260 Lagging in DoD:S

729 Views 10 Replies 6 Participants Last post by  ttodd
Hello, I'm new to the forum and I have a little problem.

I have been getting a little stutter while playing Day of Defeat: Source. I have been told to update sound and video drivers, I did, no luck. It's pretty frustrating to spend this much on a computer to have it do this on a simple game like of DoD. Specs in Sig.

Any of help is very much appreciated.

Are you seeing and wire forms of things? Like the shape but just lines.

Try right clicking on your games in your games list in steam. Select properties then local files tab. Verify the integrity of the game cache as well as defragment.

After that if you're still having problems try uninstalling the game and reinstalling.

No, it just "stutters" for about 1/2 a second. The sound will lag with it (Ex. if someone is talking it will say the word twice what he is saying, along with gunshots, grenades, etc.)

I get a steady FPS 60-up while its not happening, I've also already tried turning down ALL settings and it still does it.

I'll try the defrag and verify when I get home and let you know what happened.

Still didn't work any more suggestions? I haven't reinstalled should i try that?

Edit: saw your post reinstalling now

any other solutions?
Maybe your PSU is crapping out on you and not giving enough power to the system?
is DoD:S like L4D with the multicore rendering thing.

do you think thats the problem? It doesnt do it in crysis, Coh, and other high demanding games

and i'm not sure about the multi-core rendering

Have you installed a patch for the game? Sounds like it has poor programming if you are able to run crysis. I have never played DOD, but is it demanding of your hardware, are the graphics pretty intense in the game?
