Good evening forum!

Im having an issue here with my brand new GTX 580.

I got myself the GTX 580 Windforce just a few weeks ago and it started to do artifacts and doing random lockups wich never happend with my Crossfire setup befor.

It showed artifacts in games after some hours of being turned on. I tried the MSI Afterburner benchmark thingy to see if it would show up. Wich it did.

The video card is Factory Overclocked so I didnt fiddle around with it
.

The computer was stable befor.

Any thought on what could be cousing this issue?

Many Regards

Thanks for the respond!

Well I thought about it but they told me that if they couldnt find the issue Im having they would tell me that I have to pay them a certain amount of money for "False Claims".

If you RMA it and they find no fault, then, and only then, would you be charged anything. If they can't fix it, that's not your problem, it's theirs, you shouldn't have to pay for their incompetence. If they received it and it was, as you said, artifacting at stock, they should give you a replacement.

Basically, if the problem is easily recreated, so that they can recreate it, there shouldn't be an issue. They only reason they have that system in place (to charge if the card is fine), is to stop fraudulent RMA claims. You'll be fine,

I bought it from a retailer over the internet.

Do you know how it works? Since this is my first time ever doing an RMA.

Do they use like the software we use?

I can understand the issue with RMA for trying to trick them to send a new video card to them but Im just worried that they wont find the issue Im having.

Well that might just be me

Did you do a thorough job in removing all traces of the ATI drivers/software, using CCleaner?

Remnants of the old ATI driver can cause exactly the problem you describe on an Nvidia card, or vice-versa.

This.

Download DriverSweeper, boot to Safe Mode, use DriverSweeper to clean ATI driver traces then test.

Yes I did. A clean Windows 7 install.
