Hey guys,

So i want to get a 1440p 144hz monitor in the next few weeks.

Currently i'm running a single Gigabyte GTX 970. Now i could go down the expensive road. Sell my 970 and get a 980Ti.

Or i go easy and buy another GTX 970 for SLI. How are people's experiences with 1440p and 970 SLI? Do i really need more Vram?

Obviously i will not go all out with MSAA, But i atleast want to run my games at 1440p/ ultra, fxaa.

I have tested 2560x1440 with DSR and a single 970 and it all seemed allright.

What do you guys say?

I did 1440P and 60fps, worked fine. Memory wasn't really an issue. but to do 144fps that's another story. unless you are installing texture packs or mods, generally 4GB is lots... I personally never noticed that 3.5GB problem with my 970(s). just my 2cents.

I don't necessarily need 144 fps. But i know that i will get the same performance with what i have now. Single 970 and 1080p.

I think 970s SLI are still benching higher than a 980 Ti. Your PSU can handle another GPU with plenty to spare. As long as you can move enough air to keep them cool, I say try another 970. You can always change your mind and sell them for the next architecture when it comes out.

Running GTX 780 in SLI @ 1440p 60hz...
And I am dreaming to get 1440p144hz. Minimum what I get is 60 fps in heavy titles and usually it's 80-120 so I easy will feel the benefits of 144+gsync!
So with your 970 I would go in SLI and 1440p144hz with easy!

I am running [email protected] and have zero issue with Sli 970s. Though mine run at 1533core 24/7. I did like it better with Tri 970s though Buy 2 are just fine.
