Uhh crap is my GTX280 bad? (See pic)

Yes, I've switched the cables around, and tried different adapters, it always happens on the same output.

I checked it for obstructions as best as I can, and it's still doing this.

looks like that monitor is geting ready to die, however go into display options (the vista one) and click thee #2 monitor and make sure it's 32 bit color.

Is the green monitor set to 32bit color?

Could be about to die.

try the other screen on your video card on that output. It could be the card.

Its not the 280. I think its either the monitor or a setting in windows. Make sure that windows didnt install any color profiles on your machine. If it did then delete it and the driver for your monitor. It always makes funny colors when monitor drivers are installed with nvidia cards for some reason. Then again, it could just be the monitor going bad.

EDIT: I suppose it could be the 280 if on of the DVI output pins got dislodged or broken or some connection lost. I doubt its the GPU, most likely some pin or connection on the PCB.

It's NVIDIA. The green is to remind you of that.

Inspect the DVI pins on the back and see if any are bent or broken. Now that i have read the whole thread I do think its the 280 most likely OR a configuration in windows.

That is what I am thinking. But now that you mention the color profiles and whatever, I'm thinking that it might be 7 because I think I used that port back when it was in a folding Rig. However, 7 ALWAYS has the green tint from that port.

Wait, it looks like that in the BIOS also. I think the GTX280 connector might be damaged.

Can I RMA it for that? It's almost brand new...

The left PORT on the GTX280 is always green! Both monitors work fine plugged into the right port!

before you RMA it i would try to get used to it and see if you can deal with it first... our econ. is in bad shape right now and if you RMA it your really hurting these companys, green really isnt that bad of a color anyways.

Where in the source does it say you've used a different input to the monitor? It says you've used different cables and adapters. It doesn't specify what type of adapter. I was assuming a DVI->VGA adapter. If you meant graphics adapter (card / accelerator) then please specify and don't blame people because of your vague post.

if its like that in the BIOS then I am gonna say 90% sure its the 280. I dont think its the GPU itself but somewhere a connection to the DVI port got fried or dislodged. If you have in fact tried different DVI cables then that is my final answer. I would talk to PNY and get an RMA. I doubt there is anything you can do unless you are REALLY good with electronics. Most likely its somewhere on the PCB itself and messing with that will surely void your warranty.
