Finally started getting warm today (80+ Degrees Fahrenheit)

Been playing some Borderlands and occasionally the screen will go black with a Red light on the GTX280. I assume this is the auto shut off from heat. Sound about right?

Going to install an A/C unit in here as it's way too warm, just moved in here a few months back.

Guess I meant to ask, what's the max the GTX200 series can take?

For long gaming sessions, I would advise against going over low mid 90s.

Although if it's 80c @ idle, the 1st thing I'd do is clean the fan, and maybe remove the shroud/fan for some thermal paste replacement.

Hmm I still have a 280, have never had it shut off and have seen 90 degrees before. Do you use the card at stock? I undervolted mine ages ago and temps are a whole heap lower at stock clocks.

I had a random issue with the latest MSI afterburner but I still have v2 if you want it?

Going from 1.178 -> 1.000 is good IF you aren't overclocking the gfx card.

Just did a test - mine is around 60-70 under 100% load with 50% fan.

Cleaned the card with some canned air. Max temps after 1-2 hours of gameplay was 91 Degrees Celsius but stuck around 85 Celsius for the most part.

One thing to point out is before not only would the screen sometimes go completely black, but sometimes this would happen and it would come back to the game after 30 seconds.

Now though this has not happened once, no crashes of any kind. I've had this card forever I just need to get the ambient temperatures down as well, it's a bit of a sauna in here.
