I have had a GTX560ti 1GB since launch (not the uprated model) and I exclusively game at 1920x1080 and this isn't likely to change. I am still delighted with the performance I have had from this card but recently I find the games I play use up all of my VRAM causing frequent REALLY bad dives to 10fps.
I really enjoy playing Assetto Corsa and lag in driving games is just totally game breaking, the longer tracks cause me to stutter halfway round even though when stood still I will get a good solid 60fps+. My reasoning to upgrade is that I know this 1GB card isn't going to get any better, especially on games that will chew up VRAM like open world GTA5 and Metal Gear Solid 5.
I am a student on a budget so Ideally I am thinking of getting the GTX960 when that launches which I have heard will be a 2GB card, however maybe I should pay the extra the a GTX970 with 4GB?
Tl;Dr: If I want to play GTA5, MGS5, Shadow of Mordor, other amazing games on max @ 1920x1080 should I get a 2GB or 4GB card?
I realise no-one knows about the GTX960 yet, I want to know if 2GB VRAM would be limiting.
