Nice to know... So scaling from 1 --> 2 is still good, but from 2 --> 3 seems like a waste of money...

But where's the 1440p test?

Yeah beyond 2 is pointless @ 1080p, i too am curious about the 1440p test. Should have done these tests myself, but i've sold all my cards now.

Im pretty sure with the newer beta drivers bf3 runs better because i was using them earlier today at 1440 with tri sli. Yea the scaling is pretty ****ty at 1080p but i have found 2 games that utilize them fully at the moment and that is metro 2033 & The witcher 2.

I just bought this 1440p to do these test and im impressed with how well they scale and how 1440p looks. How ever next time i will always choose a 120hz monitor over a 1440p until they release a 120hz 1440p non catleap / overlord monitor. I personally find it no way near as smooth. Plus the 6ms response time would not help either. So to any one looking to make the choice of 1440p and 120hz i would say this if you intend to game and only game get the 120hz & if you plan only to do photo editing and web browsing then i would recommend the 1440p. But if you want both i would choose 120hz over 1440p.

Exactly, i would love to jump in @ 1440p but 60Hz would ruin my FPS experience. Especially in a TRI or 4-Way SLI config that i'll be using. And i'm not a fan of those overlord/catleaps either, since they are IPS. Pixel responsiveness would be poor once the panels are pushed over 60Hz, sure it's nice to have the colour accuracy and picture quality/viewing angles of an IPS with a higher refresh rate. Screen tearing would be gone, but you'd be left with motion blur in it's place. Not good....

This is why 120Hz will never be seen in an IPS panel (officially) and will only be TN, well until OLED comes along at affordable prices.

Hey m8, I also have 3-way SLI 680's, and also use both 1080p 120hz and 1440p monitors.

I see scaling similar to your final results with 310.33 drivers, however I have for a while even with older driver sets, that is to say ~80% scaling of the 3rd cards potential, which is pretty close to your 310.33 figures (77%).

Alright, the 1440p test is in!

Nice thread!

Can you believe what the REAL power of todays hardware COULD be... It's the stupid driver holding it back...

Anyway so 120Hz (or the ASUS 144Hz) seems to be my next upgrade... and not higher than 1200p is needed (gaming)

You did a fantastic job with these results I've wondered for a while if Tri-SLI scaling improved lately but it looks like theres an underlying issue with either Keplers hardware or the drivers thats holding back performance.

Hoodz are you having any problems with BF3? It seems after Battlelog updated itself a few weeks back I have been getting intermittent gpu downclocked speeds and horrible utilization 30% or below. This only happens when I go through Battlelog. When i play SP though offline Origin i have no problems.

The same problem in MOHW when going through Battlelog only. In game menu to MP has no problems.

These problems only happen in 3-4way SLI. 2way is perfect. All cards were tested in different locations and pairings.
