I know everyone hates pop ups but I know there is a little Javascript hack for vB that reminds you that to gain all the benefits of this forum you need to register and join the community. It's fairly small and not too annoying

The user can simply hit the little X but even if they sign up and lurk around it's better than not being a member at all

Seems like a good idea, I used a very simmilar PHPbb script on my forums a few years back. Sent membership way up.
