]I just found out how to do this after a long time. I've only tested it on non-Source games. Pictures at the bottom for reference
  • 1. Download as you normally would from Steam, then once complete, find the installation folder. (See picture #1)
  • 2. Make a new folder on the hard disk you want to move the game to. It doesn't matter what it is called, but I usually make them two deep (one folder inside another) (See picture #1)
  • 3. Cut the contents of the original install folder and paste it in your new folder, on your new HD (this may require closing Steam) (See picture #2)
  • 5. Jot down the two folder locations (can be done by right clicking on the explorer address bar and selecting "Copy address as Text"). Close both Windows (as it may cause an "... is in use" error)
  • 6. Open CMD as administrator (right click -> Run as Administrator) and type:

    Code:
    Code:
    junction.exe "C:\\Program Files (x86)\\Steam\\steamapps\\alexlaw98uk\\SuperMario" "D:\\Games\\SuperMario"
The first folder is the original install folder used by Steam. It is the one we cut everything out of. The second folder is new containing the game files (on the separate disk/partition. (See picture #3)
  • 7. You should receive confirmation in CMD. Navigate to the original install folder and it should now look like a shortcut. When clicking, it should display all the files held on the other hard disk, but appear to be on the original hard disk. (See picture #3, 4, 5)

Simples.
