I had this idea a bit ago. I wanted to build a rig that was enclosed in what looks like a guitar cabinet(just speakers/no amp). I hadn't seen anything like this....so why not?
This was the original concept(not to scale)
This is what I started with....
First Cuts
Some test fitting
At first I thought about a sliding shelf
I then decided to go with some 200mm fans aka "speakers"
Front Grill Screen Frame
I ordered the front USB/Audio/Reset from Phanteks
It was time for some color. I went with Minwax Solid Stain. The color is called Fiesta Orange.
I went with the
Corsair Hydro X Series XR7 360mm rad. I believe they are made by Hardware Labs.
Six Arctic 120's
I didn't really want to mount the rad directly to the case, so I used two L brackets, then cut a groove to attach it to the plate.
At this point it was time to actually build....
After leak testing and installing the rest....some final pics.
I'm pretty happy with it.
It's not perfect, but for a amateur wood worker, with limited tools(basically a small table saw, and cordless drill.....I think it came out pretty good.
