Guitar Hero 2 is coming out on Tuesday, Red Octane/Activision/Harmonix is also releasing the wireless Gibson SG controller for PS2 as well as their new, beefed up red standard SG (it's made of higher quality materials and is less prone to breaking and wearing out now) on November 7 so here is a thread for all Guitar Hero related discussions

I for one am really excited but I'm surprised I haven't seen ANY posts on it yet lol.

EDIT: I got Guitar Hero 2 today and got home at about 3:30, it's now 8:45 and I just came downstairs, 5 hours later, but I beat it on Expert. A lot of the songs were 3 starred because my hand started to hurt after about the 25th song but I stuck to it lol.

I also unlocked all the bonus songs and beat Trogdor, Jordan and Thunderhorse because those songs are awesome lol.

Guitar Hero (I and the II demo) are the only games I ever play on my PS2, my brother occasionally plays GTA:SA even though between us we've beaten it like 12 times and I get mad when he plugs in the real controller instead of the guitar one lol.

My friend was talking about hammer ons and pull offs being easier but I never noticed, I use hammer ons only when I get bored in a repetitive part of a song (like in Smoke on the Water by Deep Purple) but it never really helped me get through any part of a song, IMO its just more work than it's worth, the only way to get through a fast solo is to learn to strum very fast with precision timing and get very good at hitting notes on the frets like crazy

I'd be willing to bet I've played Guitar Hero I more than anyone else on this forum, I've 5 starred every song on Easy, Medium and Hard and have 3 starred Cowboys From Hell & The Breaking Wheel in Expert but 5 starred the rest, all it takes is practice.

According to the official website they tweaked the timing of hammer ons and for pull offs you don't have to hold down the lowest note any more or something.

more like 100 times better, the 2nd one got like 3x harder than the first on expert, still workin on Free Bird's 5 minute solo. I dont think they can make that game much harder with the stuff they put in this round.

For Guitar Hero I & II which wireless controller would be the best? The React Guitar Controller is identical... but it comes with a stand! And Remonster don't get mad at me, we've beaten every song in every difficulty like... 8 times? Haha.
React: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage....=1155071937682
Red Octane: http://www.redoctane.com/gh-sgwireless.html
