HAF 922 Screw stands question

2145 Views 9 Replies 4 Participants Last post by  BunderTunder
Hi, I just got this case and I found there is 2 screw stands pre-installed but these 2 stands are taller than the ones in the box so should I remove those 2 stands and change them with the ones in the box?

Yes you should. You don't want to be bending your board.

I can't answer that, it could have been left in on accident (laziness) during quality control.

no they are in all cases even in reviews, this 2 stands are there
Is the motherboard tray lower in the middle than on the outer areas?

That's the only reason I could see them putting 2 stand offs in the middle /top higher than the others.

no one have haf 922 can help?
When my bro got his 922, the 2 standoff's were there, but they were the same height as the others. Perhaps shoddy standoff QC?

Actually, I think they are meant to be there.

I am doing a build with this case right now and I also had the two standoffs pre-installed. On my case, these two standoffs had a small lip on the top, but the main body of the screw was the same height as all the others.

When putting the board in (an ASUS P6X58D-E for this one) these screws helped me get the board situated. I needed to lower the board in, apply firm pressure toward the I/O panel on the back, and when I got it to where it needed to be to align everything, the board settled down over the lips of those two standoffs and they held it there while I then put in the actual mounting screws.

So far, great case, and I am pretty impressed with everything.
