It's all good though.

You probably have it connected to the wrong header. Which is easy to do. Is your PWR flashing? If so that's what you did.

you connected it incorrectly... your power is the one that is suppose to be solid...

try connecting the power to what ever you connected your hdd to and your hdd to whatever you connected your power to

btw: the hdd light if your computer is on doesn't always blink... it stays a semi-transparent blue
the power on the other hand stays a solid blue

No, they would work because they're 2 channel systems. Power and Ground. So long as you connected them to a +/- system with the correct voltage running the system they'll work even if you were in a blizzard on generator assistance.

Reason your PWR light isn't flashing is cause your system is not reading or writing. Soon as it does your PWR should flash. But of course your connections would have to be connected in reverse order.
