HAF922 fan placement questions

I have been toying around with adding some more case fans to my haf to compliment the very average water cooling setup I have.

Here is what I was thinking:

A) 200mm bottom front fan - Intake (This is the stock fan

B) Top fan two 120mm fans with my Rad - exhaust The air coming out of here is rather cool wouldnt it make more sense for this air to stay in the case?

C) Additional 120mm fan in 5.25 drive bay - Intake

D) Additional 140mm fan in the bottom of the case - Not sure if / How this is done but all the specs say it can be and it should be an intake. Is that right has anyone done it?

E) Rear fan - This is currently the stock fan and is running as in intake, should I look at changing it to exhaust? I feel this is just sucking hot air from the PSU that is underneath it.

Does anyone know if the fans on the 240mm LCLC can be changed / upgraded to those of a better quality?
Any one got any advice on the above questions?

Have added some pictures. Hope they help...

Ok, good morning. I would agree with all your notes on your picture except for the side fan wall and changing your rad to an intake. So, no new side wall fan and keep top as exhaust.

Review my guides picture on how air flow should generally go and try to get your case air flow to work the same. Your on the right track! Would love to see some pics of your case when your done.
i have the haf 922 and i believe the rear fan is an exhaust fan

I will double check mine but Im pretty sure its currently running as an intake. The builder might have put it together differently...

basing on that picture you showed, it is an exhaust...

I agree that it should be an exhaust, however based on the tissue test completed just moments ago its an intake.. Which is why Im going to change it to an exhaust.

OK so here is my plan... Im going to skip the fan wall for now. Im not sure how I feel about drilling in my case.

This fan is for the drive bay:

http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?...ducts_id=11128

Rear Exhaust:

http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?...oducts_id=8022

Bottom Intake:

http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?...oducts_id=8136

If anyone has some better suggestions feel free my only requirements are:

Must be available locally in Australia

Two need to be blue for the main body of the case
The fan for the drive bay needs to be red.

Thoughts appreciated.

I actually have the r4's which I'm not using atm... they are rated 19db on lower speeds but at 2000rpm, its about ~29db... I'd go with slipstreams as case fans

Slipstreams are bad fans on anything in the least bit restrictive, mesh, dust filters...they are just poorly made and underperforming fans. I wouldn't suggest them. R4's should do you well.

I guess we just have different opinions, it works great for me. Still have positive airflow. And If you noticed, I am also one of the few that is using a "poorly made and under performing fan" as a hsf and yet get great results, 1200rpm push only on a megahalem.

pardon my ignorance but what exactly is a R4? I searched on a number of webistes and didnt turn up result. Could be my poor user skills though

I can put a poorly made and under performing fan on the Mega and get good temps as well, its just why waste your money on it rather then purchasing a good quality and better performing fan for the same price?

R4 is the CM R4 which are sold in all different varieties. The R4 designates the base model number.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...ter+r4&x=0&y=0

I will add however that I like the Yate Loons much better then the R4s. They are also cheaper.

for the low noise and low price, you cant really find a good quality and better performing fan.... R4 is rated 19db @ 2000 rpm? really? yes you can buy yate loon's/san ace/panaflo for low price but you need a fan controller to control the noise...

Already stated this many times but the 19dbA is rated at its lowest RPM and it reaches about 29dbA on its highest RPM. I never rely on manufacturer ratings in regards to the dbA anyway. Everyone's hearing is the different not to mention the mic distance on these ratings is never the same between different manufacturers.

San Ace is not a low price fan no matter where you shop. Panaflo min is a $15 fan. As for Yate Loons needing a fan controller totally depends on what speed Yate Loon you get, just like the slip streams. High speed of course but they also sell Medium and Low speed Yates. The medium make great case fans unless you have very sensitive hearing then go for the low speed ones which are proven to do great on Radiators as well as case fans.

To my low quality and under-performing comment I can link you to a ton of reviews and many people backing me up on this but it seems you already know about it.

For a comparison you can shop online for the best deal on a slip stream fan and get them for $7 and the Yate's you can get for as low as $6 and I am sure you will find by asking around that 95% of the people here would rather buy a Yate over a Slip Stream even for double that price.

Actually I don't know about it, I would love to read about those reviews, care to link them? You can find cheap scythe fans but expensive shipping, yates, you can always buy at petra's shop with decent shipping.
