I just installed W7 in my new build so I can re-install W7 if needed.

Computer management shows the HDD's not populated, so I click the populate button, then whenever I click okay and come back into the same screen it says the drive isn't populated.

BIOS and Disk management shows the drives but these are the only options I have from Disk management. I tried looking around and haven't found anything, sorry if this has an easy solution that I should've seen earlier.

Currently using AHCI for the drives, I had the same problem with just IDE before.

Thanks for the fast response.
I couldn't find a better way so I just reinstalled W7 and formatted/partitioned my HDD's while doing that.

The proper procedure (to be technical) is to (1) create a partition and then (2) format the partition.
