Has anyone purchased a refurbished PSP from Gamestop?

I'm thinking of getting a PSP and don't want to blow nearly 200 bucks on the 3000, and in any case I want to homebrew a PSP. GameStop sells PSP "Original" handhelds that are refurbished for about 80-90 bucks. I've purchased refurbished Xbox and Xbox 360 consoles from GameStop and both have worked perfectly fine for the time I owned them. Even had a refurbished Xbox original work better than my friends brand new one.

In any case, has anyone bought one of these PSPs or known someone who has who can report on their condition and functionality?

Thanks.

I don't see anything wrong with buying a used psp game as there is not licence code that could have already been used.

-Opps, you meant a PSP system, dunno never bought one from gamestop.
I know that you can (in the UK at least) negotiate with the GameStop store manager for a slightly longer warranty, say from 30 days to 3 months. I think if you plead with them that you wont buy unless you get the free extended warranty, you are more likely to be granted one.

Worth a try if you need the extra peice of mind.
I bought one for my little brother's B-day, hasn't had an issue in the past couple weeks, i say go for it!
Don't mean to thread jack, but do these refurb PSPs come with a charger for the system?
I sold a bricked PSP fat and a PSP fat with a broken IR to gamestop. I'd becareful buying a used gaming system from them.

However, I have bought a used XBOX but returned because the 360 came out weeks later and also bought a used Nintendo Gamecube and still works today.

Well, the item in question isn't "used" per se, it was broken and sent to be repaired and is now actually sold as working(ie refurbished).

I have had a couple of friends that got the refurbished ones from GameStop and it works fine. Running CFW + homebrew apps with no problems!
