anyone? I just want to make sure that I didn't mess my card up by putting as5 on it...that was the first thing I did when I received it, even before I put it in my computer. I know it probably didn't, just wanted to make sure so I can put as5 on my replacement card without messing it up (after testing stock cooling of course)

On my x700 pro it looks more like some kind of tape--the HS is only held in contact with a spring--so I don't know if you will get enough contact--there are little lugs as well that hold it up off the die heat spreader--

On my fx5500 I put on a custom HS and it was like a thick paste--much stiffer than AS5--but the AS5 and new HS seemed to help with the temps when OCed to the hilt.

I would inspect the mechanism that holds the HS on the die very close and see if there is going to be a gap or any other issue (like the HS being tilted or needing to be lapped.
