Have XP Product key, but no disk...

BIG problem here. I'm working on a machine for a coworker, with the problem being that Windows would not boot up. I figured a repair install would fix it, but didn't count on the product key not working with the disk I had. Product key is for XP Pro, and disk is XP Pro SP2.

Now that I've partially completed a repair install (up to the point where it asks for the product key), things like Hiron's Boot CD only bring up the PID for the disk I have, which is 76487OEM. I have no idea what the original PID was, and no idea what disk to attempt acquiring in order to install. I did find this article, which should help me modify my SP2 disk to install MOST XP install types, but is there any way I can tell what edition of XP I have by just the product key?
