Having a hard time picking out good power supply

I'm about to upgrade my system to an i7. The Antec 500w ps i have only has a 4 pin cpu power connector, so I'm looking for a new ps with the 8 pin connector and a little more juice. My wish list is for sure a modular unit, with at least 600w. But my budget is only $100. I would prefer a black unit with blue leds, although I know that's not important. I keep looking at newegg and few other places and just cant decide. SO many reviews on these have a lot of great and a lot of poor to them. Its hard to know if its really a good reliable brand/unit. This is what I'm leaning towards, what do you think? Anything better?

.....Also, almost every unit has the big fan on the bottom. From what I've read its ok to mount it upside down at the bottom of the Antec 900. Anyone else do that?

HX 750 from corsair

or

silverstone 750 modular
Don't get it.

Corsair, Seasonic, PC Power and Cooling, silverstone all make much better power supplies.
I know it's $29 over your budget....but it has free shipping. I highly recommend this unit.

It is an updated version of the PSU I have, the HX620. Best PSU I have ever owned. Also the HX650 has a 7 year warranty, is modular, and is 80Plus Bronze certified. http://www.80plus.org/manu/psu/psu_r...50W_Report.pdf

Yes, you are supposed to mount the PSU upside down in the Antec 900/1200. That's what I do in my 1200. (Fan facing up)

HX 650 is your best bet for cheapest modular quality solution...

I would get this. I have the 600w version and It runs my rig without issues. Very nice modular cables. Very quiet fan.

Yeah, but OCZ isn't unconditional as they have a mix of good and crap. Same with CoolerMaster and Thermaltake

Corsair
SeaSonic
PC Power & Cooling
Antec (excluding Basiq)
Thermaltake (excluding Pure Power)
CoolerMaster (excluding eXtreme Power)
OCZ (excluding Fatal1ty)
Thanks for all the replies. This is hard to do with only $100. Does anyone remember newegg having many good brand name power supplies on sale for black friday / cyber monday in the past? Maybe I should see what pops up in a week?

I concur.

PC P&C and Corsair are my top two.

That Thermaltake is reasonably good. At 650W, the CWT PSH build is a solid choice. My choice would be this. If you wait long enough, newegg will eventually put this only sale again for ~$100. Those aren't fully modular, but they are good PSUs. Of course the HX650 is a good choice, but you won't find it for under $100.

I'm still kinda liking the Thermaltake, it has pretty good reviews on newegg. But I'm really liking these 2 Antecs also. I dont remember seeing these while searching. Wow, i wish that 2nd one would go under $100. Thanks, good pics.
