Hey All...

I'm still pretty much a n00b poster, but I've been reading the site for about a year now.

I had a old barton 2500+ mobile 754 chip before my new setup, and I had it humming at 2.5ghz with no problem.

However, I recently upgraded my system, and am using a Venice 3000 chip with an abit AN8 SLI board(with the most recent bios), and I'm running into some difficulties. I can't seem to hit over 2.2ghz. I've seen people hit 2.6ghz on here pretty easily with the same chip, and I'm not sure whats going on.

Multiplier is set at x9.0
Frequency is at 240
VCore is at 1.5v

On my old barton chip, I was able to do a larger multiplier but it seems the MB only lets me have a x9.0.

Just wondering if someone could please lend me a hand, and give me some direction as to where to go next, or if you need more info/data to figure out what I need to adjust, I can post up more.

Thanks for any/all help!

Have you set a ram divider and lowered your HT link?

Awesome!

Thanks for the help!

I dropped my ram to 333 and my HT to 3x

multiplier is still at x 9.0
frequency is at 270
vcore still at 1.5

and I'm at 2.43ghz

I appreciate the help, I'll be entertained for a few hours now.

Any other helpful hints to get to 2.6?

okay...

so I hit 2.61 ghz

Multiplier at x9.0
freq at 290
vcore at 1.55

lowered dram to 266

See if it lasts threw the night with no issues.

Any more info to hit higher speeds would rock... I've got some good air cooling not to mention a full tower case so it doesn't heat up bad at all.
