HD 5870 Sticker Removal?

1519 Views 11 Replies 9 Participants Last post by  C-bro
Just out of curiosity, if I remove the awful/ugly sticker on bottom (top?) of the 5870 will it void the warranty? I know I will never need to look at that while it's in my case, but the stickers on these cards are some of the worst I've ever seen.

The only stickers worse than the ones on the 5xxx cards is that awful Palit frog. Seriously.... it's a *** frog with cyber legs. It will haunt your dreams.

Hmm not sure

Most ATI partners are pretty strict when it comes to defacing the cards.
I wouldn't chance it without first contacting Diamond.
Don't dis the Palit cyber frog. He fights terrorists in space and is obviously the best mascot for any company out there.

Anyway, removing the sticker will most likely void your warranty. Just put it in your case and don't look at it then

I completely agree with you. I removed the stickers on my 9800GX2, and most would think they are at the very least acceptable. The decals now.... really lame. Gigabyte's are probably the worst, right up there with Palit.

As far as your question regarding warranty, I have no answer.

I seriously just laughed really hard at that, lol.

I think Palit frog is a pretty cool guy. eh looks like crap and doesn't afraid of anyone.

But as everyone has said, it isn't 100% sure that it will void your warranty, but a lot of companies can be picky about it. I'd just live with it. Maybe look up the warranty info online or in the manual if you really don't like the stickers?

Tried and didn't find anything. That's when I turned to the forums

I asked BFG the same thing about my GTX 295, and their reply was "Uhhhh you might wanna leave those decals intact."

I hate those graphics on the cards man. That's why if I get a 5870 (or 2) I'm getting the Asus ones. They are the most professional looking ones.

Just put your own static sticker over top (the kind that are just plastic and stick to glass). Then you don't have to look at the ugly one, and you can remove it at any time.
