I recently completed my first gaming build. I'm looking to upgrade
my video card to a HD 6990 but was concerned as my PSU is corsair
GS 800. Is that power supply sufficient to power that card and my system?

Yes a GS800 is enough.

Yes, you will need around 600W for that setup.
Your Corsair GS800 also has the required 2x 8pin pci power.

Thank you all for quick replys! I was hoping I wouldnt have to buy bigger PSU cause some forums I read said at least 1000 watts.
