I'm sorry for the lack of a good title. So anyway, with my new system that uses a 7770, I have to use an old Samsung SyncMaster 920Nx temporarily and there seems to be lines moving down the screen constantly. I don't notice it if I dont look close enough though.

I'm not sure if there's something wrong with the monitor being paired with a newer GPU, or if the VGA cable is bad or if the DVI - VGA adapter is bad or if its just the video card.

Should I be worried? I think its the monitor but I really can be sure.

What do you think?

Sounds like the monitor to me; VRAM errors tend to be random noise and splotches of color, not uniform lines. Can you hook anything else to the monitor, to test if it exhibits similar issues?

Ok, I've hooked up an old system with a 4670 in it. I'm using the same cable but I don't have to use any adaptor. The somewhat transparent but noticeable lines are less pronounced now ...

The issue still seems to exist but its to the point where you have to look really closely
