HD coolers?

Just wondering what some OCers think about Hard drive coolers? Do they work and do you need them?

Well, if you mean by work do they slightly lower HD temperatures, then yes, but they are completely unnecessary, some gentle airflow over the drive is all you need.
Most cases already have front intake fans that blow over the HDD/HDD cage. Which is more than sufficeint.
you don't need them unless you've got crappy airflow

here's more info
HD's generally last longer when slightly warm (30-45C is idle).

You really don't have to have HDD cooling, but in a case that has a lot of OCed stuff it's best to have a fan keeping that hot air off the Hard Drives. Otherwise it's not big deal.
The only use I see for them is to reduce noise. In a well-aerated case, I think they might even increase temps.
120mm coming through the rad and over the drives keep mine between 24-32C

so imo unnecessary
