I'm new to overclocking gpus and I oc'd my 4850 from 625/993Mhz to 700/1100Mhz(1,158volts) by flashing bios. Now i'm thinking is there still headroom without volt modding on hardware level.

What frequensies should I expect with current 1,158 volts?

^This.

You may have to turn down the memory clock down a little but you should be able to get to 720-730mhz core with the max stock voltage in the bios (1.15V).

Cooling will help it a bit in terms of overclocking. Mine did 710Mhz/1175Mhz with stock cooler 1.158v and with a much better cooler i got it up to 750Mhz and that was ~ 45C under load. I did not stop there and did a pencil mod which was very very easy but need good temps and i got it to 860Mhz core with 1.35v but used it most of the times 800Mhz core with 1.3v.

That's pretty impressive. Not sure if you can expect that, but good goal to aim for.

Is this with your sig rig Graphics cards ?, if so not valid due to the OP is asking about 48590's not 4870's.

here's mine on stock air, and these are 4850's

and here's the other

Ok so load temps I got @700/1100Mhz were 55-60c, idle ~40. With stock volts&clocks orginal cooler couldn't keep load temps under 90c and now with more volts and about 10% overclock duorb manages to keep load temps under 60c
memory load temps get to 70c but if remember right those where higher with stock cooler too.
