Sure I mean you don't want fragmentation. And easy enough to do.
I reccomend Iobit for defragging. I use it at home and work and it works a treat. It's free too

It means what it says. 7% of the files on the HD are fragmented.
And why not? Defragging improves performance.
There's no reason not to defrag. Windows built in defrag program should work just fine.
As said, defragging improves performance but don't expect miracles.

I recommend using Smart Defrag: simple, easy and works well.
well, what I meant by the 7%, is is it bad?
and thanks, ill do it anyway.
7% is not a lot of fragmentation but 0% is better. Yes fragmentation can get a lot higher.
7% isn't bad, but if I happen to check it, I usually run the defrag program anyway. Might as well let it go while you do something else.
I've had disks at around 38%, I think. Not sure if I've had one higher than that but I'm sure they can get worse.
The actual percentage is pretty much irrelevant - which files and how they are fragmented is more important.

If you have the time to run a defrag do so (or set it up to run in the background). Won't hurt, could help, might not.

Never understimate the power of the dark side.

OP.. Please fill in your system specs in control panel.

Is it an ordinary hard drive you have or a Solid State Drive?

Just Windows being Windows. You might need more than just overnight.

And OP did say what it was in the original post. So most of us knew not an SSD.

It's a computer my work bought. I had the job of wiping it and turning it into a mini file/print/database server.
