HDD Coolers

Whilst looking for case fans to install in my drive bay I came across HDD coolers.

Has anyone used these? are they any good? I assume that they slide over the HDD like a glove. Is that right?

do you mean hdd coolers in general,
or did you mean to post a link?
HDD cooling generally isn't needed as the optimal operational temperature is 35-45C. It seems that temps lower than 25C actually reduce life expectancy.

and yes Master Chief I agree they look cool.

HDD have internal temp monitors. Access the SMART data using HD Tune or any thing similar. If you have ACHI or RAID enabled, you may not be able to access the data.

got a laptop with dual hdd, get BLAZING hot. burn hands hot. any ideas how to put cooling in a cramped area? it gets hotter over the hdds than over the cpu...
Like Duckie said, HD coolers don't help, and may even be detrimental. Its very unusual to see a hd exceed its ideal operating temp range in a case that isn't, more or less, a giant dust bunny.
