What's the power draw of a typical 2 - 4 TB drive on startup? In terms of watts or amps on the 12V and 5V rail?

If you want to play it safe, budget 2-2.5A on the +12v and 750mA on the +5v, per 3.5" drive (which power the spindle from the +12v).

Fast laptop drives often need need more +5v current (1.5A to be safe), but no +12v at all, as they power everything from the 5v rail.
