Hey guys

just wanting to build a case and my idea is to have it wall mounted or standing on its side.. just wondering if HDDs like to be on used on there vertical side not hozizontal (paraell to the ground)

my mate had a external and said it would make funny noises on its side..

thanks in advance

Chris

I can't really answer this with anything other than my experience. I personally think it would be fine to mount them either way. I've had externals and other drives that were vertical and never had an issue.

You are right, there really is not supposed to be any issue with drives being placed either horizontally or vertically - but I think the question he was asking was whether noise levels would be the same?
