I have recently discovered the joy of some great headphones!

I found an old set of Sennheiser headphones in my drawer and thought I'd see how they sounded. They sound better than my Sony Ericsson walkman IEM ones! It's amazing!

I think they are Sennheiser PX100s but I could be wrong as I'm judging this off google images.

Will I be able to find a good improvement of headphones within a certain price limit? The price limit being £30-£40.

I listen to:
- R&B
- Techno/Electro
- 70s
- Everything, really.
- Bass (I love Bass!
)

I want to watch movies and listen to some of my favourite songs as well as game with them.

I would also prefer Closed as I get paranoid of other people hearing me being noisy

PS: Do closed headphones have the 'fade-out' feature where you pause a song halfway through and then it suddenly fades out, it sounds better than a jerky, sudden stop. I don't know how to explain it
I'm asking because my current headphones are open and I would like to keep this 'feature'. It's almost as if the volume is going to 0 in 0.5 seconds, it's not sudden but a fast gradual fade. Sorry if I'm vague.

Thanks

The feature you describe is not really a facet of the headphones but of the media player.

I don't know much about phones in that range. Are you looking for something more portable? If not, I would recommend saving up some more.

I can't speak for any of these, just throwing them out there. I did read some thoughts from Head-Fi: D501, MDRXB300, HD238
(I do know of someone who has the Sony's)
Hmm...30 to 40 pounds isn't that much. You might be able to find a Shure SRH440 for that price though.
If I bumped the price bracket a little what else could I get?
