Okay, I'm cheaping out on this and getting

It's either this:

Sennheiser HD555 (Refurbished) $51 USD

Creative X-Fi XtremeGamer (Refurbished) $50 USD

Or:

Sennheiser HD201 (New) $25 USD

Creative X-Fi Titanium SB0880 (New) - $79 USD

Should I go with something different entirely? Budget is around $100 USD.

Looking for a balanced sound (for the headphones) and also something viable for gaming. I would also prefer something good for gaming regarding the sound card.

Not really much of an audiophile, but I enjoy listening to lossless music. I like things to sound nice, in general.

Xonar DS might serve you better than the DG and the Creative cards. First post here (nvm) explains the difference (not in detail).
+ the 555s

EDIT: Whoops - forget that link - I was looking at the DX vs DS, which I thought was the DS vs DG...was too tired to be posting.
In addition, as Tacoboy said, the guy at head-fi is wrong.
The DG has a max sample rate of 96KHz (DS has 192). However, it has Dolby Headphone.

The "review" states that the DG does not have an processor.
That reviewer did not their homework very well.

On Amazon. "DAHMART" sells them. Good reviews and lots of people get HD555's from them.

Anyway, I ended up getting the Creative SB0880 because it's PCI x1. A couple friends persuaded me in getting it (they have it), but my main reasoning was because I wanna cover up the slot above my graphics card. I accidentally took out one too many cutouts on the back of my case and I don't really appreciate it when my USB to PS/2 connector falls on top of my graphics card.

Anyway, whenever I get it I'll probably tell you guys how it sounds. I'm sure I'll be amazed because:

1) Never used a sound card.
2) Only have used crappy headsets.

I'm looking forward to getting them!
