he was doin just fine on it, went to restart, then his HDD wasn't being recognized. switched to a IDE HD he had from a friend, and now it will recognize, but his SATA Disk drive wont recognize.

I think its something to do with the bios, he said the SATA were enabled in bios, but it seems to me that something is a miss. he never reflashed to a newer bios, could that be an issue? has been running fine the way it is from about Xmas to last weekend.

Does he have any extra sata cables he could try or could he try one of the other sata ports?

try a different sata port first then try the cables and if that doesnt work try hdtune on the drive maybe its bad its not the bios if it was working before
