Help me get going again

OK, so I have a strong system here. I've never folded on a CPU client. but I've ran many WU's on my GTX 260. I now have SLI 260's and Water Cooling. and I'm ready to step up the work load here.

I've actually been folding for a random team. (I know, I know, don't yell at me guys) I just got some random team from someone to enter and fold on. I "Should" be folding for my home here at OCN..

So, confirm for me this is the team number. "37726"

Also. I have Fahmon, Win32 [email protected] GPU SysTray 6, and [email protected] 6.22 Beta2 SMP. but I never installed the SMP.

So, here are my questions. it's been a few months. Do I need to update a few things to get going here, is there better updates for my GPU. and another question. Do I need to run 2 instances of the GPU SysTray client to fold on my SLI, or will a single client get work from both cards?

Do I want to run both a GPU, and CPU Client, or should I just fold on my 260's?

Any info, and suggestions. and programs I should get would be great, as I don't know very much about [email protected] at all.

Thanks Guys! Top 1500 Here I come!

Well, I'm trying to add a CPU client with the GPU2 beta client, and getting them both to register (the "[email protected] essential thread" needs an update for this config!), because the GPU2 client leaves the procs mostly alone (and one can be sacrificed for folding, without denying a donor the use of the computer).

So, yes, if you can do both it'll be great!

ADDED: Both system tray clients for uniprocessor and GPU2 work together, and running in [email protected] -- just remember if you're running NOD32 to exclude it from monitoring the [email protected] directory and each client (it was blocking the program the CPU client despite the whole directory being excluded).
OK, I'm folding for OCN right now. I have the GPU system Tray client up and going.

Do I need to run 2 clients to use both GPU's. or no??

Yes, if you want to fold on both cards you need to disable SLI, and run 2 different clients.

Really.. so do I just install the sys tray GPUv2 thing a second time... or what??

and I need to disable SLI

so right now with SLI enabled it's only working GPU in first slot?

also, the only thing that matters is shaders right.. so leave core clock to stock 576, and Crank the shaders. correct?

Unfortunately, the folding clients don't support SLI yet. So, you have to disable SLI to fold on both cards.

Look at the guide on how to fold with multiple GPU's in the essential thread.

I was looking in the everything you need to know thread. thats why I asked. I didn't see the essential thread. lol sorry guys. I'll read that now.

**** seems difficult.. I have to shove pins in my 260?? thats not cool. is that 100% safe?

Make a dummy plug. Here's the thread easy as pie. Although I have read that is not needed now with the 182.XX drivers, but IMO for 1 buck you know your good to go.

Also, here's a great guide and download to set up 2 GPU clients without using them as a service. I have been using this for some time now and works like a champ.

Yea currently my other monitor is at a friends house so I'm out a second monitor.. I guess I can stop and get the dummy plugs after work and give this a try.
