The highlights for toshiba:

* Its NOT a refurb, like the HP is
* That pentium D cpu, which clocked slightly faster than the turion, should provide VERY similar performance and better power usage.
* Both have 3gb of ram, and between 250-320gb of hdd isnt all that much
* Toshiba has a great name, and great quality backing it up.
* The toshiba is on sale for cheaper than the HP, and has basically the same screen size.

The HP:

* Bigger screen
* WAYYY better graphics system (8200m)
* HDMI
* 720p native display
* larger hard drive
* lightscribe

In the end, the 50 bucks is worth it to get the HP, even though its a refurb. Just be sure to stress the crap out of it before your 90 day return period expires.

that's a turion ultra against a pentium d. core2duos are the only ones beating it.
