I'm in a bind my monitor literally just died and i'm typing this on my phone. Here are my options I'm going to bestbuy and whats here is whats instock and in my price range of 300 dollars.

http://www.bestbuy.com/site/acer-25-ips-led-hd-monitor-black/4681904.p?id=1219798695604&skuId=4681904 (1440p)

I'd really like the 27'' monitor but is it decent? I don't know much about monitors I need a guru... I feel like that 1440p one is a cheap gimmick too... I think my best bet for best pictrure is that 23" dell but I'd like a large screen so I'm leaning towards the 27"

ugh... need opinions! driving there now.

I really like this one... http://www.bestbuy.com/site/asus-27-ips-led-hd-monitor-silver/8767178.p?id=1218890757451&skuId=8767178

any comments on that one?

This version of the Asus 27" is better than the one you posted above:

It's 1440p and IPS, the best of both worlds if you ask me! Of course the newer models are much better but it's good, I have it and love it!

For the $300 price range your looking at the Dell Ultrasharp 2415 is probably the best there:

I thought you wanted 144Hz for CS GO?

I don't know what BB has but if you want a monitor for online FPS go 24" 1080p 120Hz and up.
If your looking for image quality go 27" 2560x1440.
Should find something in both ranges for ~$300.00.
Either should be fine for your new 980Ti.

Thanks for the insite - I did use it before purchasing. I decided not to go with the 1440p because my rig just isn't ready for it unfortunately.... Maybe those this next GPU refresh, but the next I can jump right to 4k and skip 1440p who knows..

FOR those wondering, I picked up the Asus 27" inch. It's great, colors were a bit iffy out of the box but luckly I was able to tweak some settings and it's looking crisp. I read some people were saying 1080p at 27".... those people are crazy, this monitor is nice, and for only 230$

Will post pics if anyones interested.
