dude number one your floppy drive connecter is different than your HD connector. On your system board you should see IDE 1 or IDE 2. You want to plug your HD into IDE 1. At that point you want to make sure to match up pin 1 with pin 1 on the cable. You can tell which is pin 1 on the cable because it will have a pink marking on the last pin. Also the mainboard will indicate where pin 1 is.
