Just a couple things you need to keep in mind. Don't static your new hard drive to death; keep grounded or discharge before you touch anything. I like to turn off the power supply and unplug it before I even open my case. Other than that, just take out the old one and plug in the new.
Yup, just swap them out and reinstall windows. You will have to update all the drivers and crap but windows should do that for you when you get an internet connection.
great thanks always something to remember. is there anything i can do to ground myself other than anti static braclet? and i cant really move my pc away from carpet cus its quite...large lol and im only small XD
If you touch the metal on the case you will be fine. I have done this for a while and I have never had a problem. No strap needed. And, unplug the psu and hit the power button. The system will try to turn on and then shut back off before POST so that you know there is no power in the system.
ok thankss alot (Y) should be sorted tomoz then
Anytime. It's quite easy to do once you do it a million times like all of us on here, lol. Good luck and welcome to the site. If you have any other questions, don't hesitate to ask.

If you had any data on your old hard drive that you would like to recover then there is a series of processes you could go through that are relatively simple. If you want to use the drive as a backup. You could probably just simply format it/run disk check depending on what the exact problem was...but before you did that you would have to retrieve any necessary information that was on the drive that you want to keep. ^^;
