Help my i7 get to 4200

I've read the guide but I'm still kinda unsure.
I'm wondering if there's anyone out there that has same motherboard and cpu as me that got to 4.2ghz stable on air.
Could you please post your voltages and etc? My chip's VID is 1.208v ( don't know if that's good or bad ).

Would it even be possible to run 4.2Ghz 24/7 with my setup?

Thanks

off to bed. will check in morning

Same board here.

for me

bclk: 200
multi: 21
vcore: 1.32
qpi voltage : 1.32
vtt: 1.85
memory: 2:8 ratio for 1600mhz

edit: it pretty much depends on the chip. my first 920 needed 1.35v for just 3700mhz so its all luck of the draw.
Anything is possible as long as you keep your temps in check.

Clocks above 4.0ghz usually require an exponential increase in vCore in order to be stable. I've found that 4.0 is the sweet spot, about 1.20-1.23v average (in my last 4 i7's). 4.2 will take upwards of 1.3v
Using the same board, I got my C0 i7 920 to 3.85GHz w/HT stable at 1.3250vCore.. 183MHz FSB and 21x multiplier.. Using pretty much the same values as sexybas--- above.. I do use LLC though.

Thanks, I'll try those now. What about other voltages such as CPU PLL and ICH/IOH?

Ok, I tried bastard's settings and I didn't boot. I don't see anywhere where I can set the memory ratio. I just set it to lowest mhz for memory and then 2x that for UCLK. Also, My core 3 is 7 celsius lower than core 0 at all times. Is my heatsink on wrong or did I apply thermal paste unevenly?

About my RAM. On newegg it says that it's supposed to run at 1600mhz at 8-8-8-24 but the ram runs at 1033 at 9-9-9-24 when set to auto. Is that supposed to be like that?
vtt @ 1.85 is way too high. Uncore voltage is specified by intel as 1.35 Absolute Max

Alot of boards won't detect ram correctly. Just take it off auto and set yourself
still no luck. where in the world is the memory ratio setting on this motherboard? coming from a c2q all i had to do was increase fsb, multi, and vcore. with i7s i don't know what voltage to increase ( i just increase vcore but that doesn't seem to do anything ).

can someone please give me specifics to this motherboard? thanks
