im a newb to this whole overclocking thing. i have a 9800 gt 1024 MB edition from BFG. i wanna overclock it for the best performance in game, looking for at least 10 fps increase maybe? and please, easy instructions cuz im not that great at this whole OCing thing. i have MSI Afterburner and EVGA Precision Tool. HOW CAN I OC? or what numbers do i put into the tools to do it?

You need to download and install Furmark. Then open up EVGA Precision (link the core and shader clocks) and up the core clock by 10mhz. Then run Furmark and look for artifacts (weird colors and stuff). Repeat until it artifacts. Then do the same with the memory clock.

Furmark... is this like ATItool but for nvidia? Aside from looking for artifacts does it actually let you change clock and memory speeds? Or is that what the other tool you mentioned is for.

And what is a dangerous temp for this card with stock cooling? 70~? 80~?
