I was looking at 2 power supplies just now and got confused.<br><br><b>What they have in common:</b><br>
they both say 18 amps on 2 12 volt rails (36 amp total). They also both claim to be 550 watts.<br><br><b>What is different:</b><br>
Brand "B" says it has 50 amps on the 5 volt rail. The other, only 25 amps on the same rail.<br><br><b>My question.</b><br>
is Brand "b" lying about the total amps? Do they really have 2 12 volt rails @ 18 amps and a 5 volt rail @ 50 amps (totla is way over 550 watts)?<br><br>
Which sounds like the better deal? (again, not for purchase. Only to help me understand the lable so tha i can purchase the best deal)<br><br>

the psu with more amps on the 5v rail will have less amps on the 3.3v rail. it's simple math.<br />

there are no standards in psu ratings, so without knowing brands i cannot say which is better

Frankly, you should of continued this in your other post. Multi posts usualy cause fionfusion.
