could u guys please help me decide what to get?

The Samsung T260HD:

Matte Screen TN Panel

Tv tuner (dont know the quality or kind? ATSC tuner?)

2 HDMIs
1 DVI
1 VGA
Component
Optical out (sound- does this really work?)

Remote better used for tv function

tilts 25% back only

3 years warranty

USD 449

or the

HP w2558hc:

Glossy screen TN Panel

Webcam w/ mic (most likely 1.3 MP)
15 in 1 Card Reader

2 USB
2 HDMI
1 DVI

Remote (for using as a picture portrait or mp3 player?)

Height adjustment, tilt adjustment

489 USD

i really dont believe their response time anyway.. just mainly concerned w/ the input lag.. ive seen that the hp has 2/3 less input lag than the t260hd but is 2-3 frames lag so much for an average gamer like me?.. not sure..

im really confused w/ the image quality between the 2.. some have said that the t260s have more realistic color representation compared to the washed out glossy screen of the HP that gives me an illusion of better contrast.. (i see more details in darker areas in the HP screen(reference is the w2408h -similar to the w2558hc) (95% brightness) compared to the t220 (100% brightness) (t220 similar to the t260hd panel (assumed)).. i used the same picture.. ( i was in costco)

im really not sure what to do anymore.. too bad i wasnt able to both compare their standard presets..

please help a newb like me that is soo scared to waste $500+

any other model suggestions that are pretty common? or at least not so hard to find
..

thanks in advance

Glossy screens will annoy you with unwanted reflections. But the Samsung isn't vesa mountable. I think for the average gamer, input lag is not going to be anything noticeable between those 2 monitors. If you purchase from a big box store, then it's easy to return and try the other if you're not satisfied. If the vesa isn't a concern, I'd probably go with the Samsung.
I would go with the Samsung. I don't like HP monitors. That particular one is pretty ugly.

beauty is in the eye of the beholder
any other stuff u dont like about the HP w2558hc that would really make the T260HD a better buy..

Thanks for the reply tho
btw the T260HD looks so much sexier in my eyes
but then again it wont be the reason why the T260HD would be a better buy for me

I am planning to set up either of those in a moderate to slightly bright room.. and i dont mind the glossyness if it is the only way to get those details from dark areas in movies or pictures.. (not unless the T260HD can be calibrated in a way that it could stand against the HPs ability to display the darker details)

but still is it worth the 40 USD difference (maybe even 60+ difference w/ tax).. minus the ATSC tuner?
